(Passiflora spp.) We have 2 varieties of Passionflowers, fruit bearing and decorative. The best place to plant a passionflower is in moist but well-drained soil in a sunny spot with the shelter of a wall, fence or trellis. We also plant them next to a tree and they like to grow into the canopy.
Zebra butterflies, love this plant, but sometime new plants are hard to get started because the caterpillars devour all leaves on the plant before they can take hold in your garden. We found that placing a vine plants on the same trellis helps the passionflower to take hold. We have used Coral Honeysuckle with our passion vines.
